World-leading academics visit ELSA

The ELSA team was privileged (and just a little bit excited!) to welcome two world-leading academics in cognitive psychology to our office this week. Professor David Uttal from Northwestern University (USA) and Professor Lynn Liben from Penn State University (USA) are experts in many fields, including spatial reasoning and cognitive and social development. David and Lynn provided valuable insights into the ELSA Pilot program – including the apps – and have given us a lot of great ideas for the future.

Lynn and David will be staying in Canberra for several weeks, working from the University of Canberra (UC) with our very own Centenary Professor Tom Lowrie on ELSA, as well as other projects being undertaken by the STEM Education Research Centre (SERC) at UC.

This visit marks David’s second trip to Australia and UC in as many years – it seems he has grown fond of the place! And we have certainly grown very fond of him. We’re very excited to officially welcome David to the UC family as an adjunct professor in the Faculty of Education.
